ITSqc invites organizations to join the ITSqc Consortium who share our interest in improving the eSourcing relationship. As a member, you can work with us to create or improve capability models and contribute to a repository of sourcing benchmarks and best practices.

Membership Levels

Consortium Members
We offer four membership tiers for Consortium members: Principal, Associate, Contributing, and Affiliate.

Founding and Principal Consortium members play a strategic role in the ITSqc. For a contribution of US$500,000 per year for five years, they gain unlimited use of all materials developed by ITSqc.

Associate and Contributing Consortium members become involved in the research of the ITSqc and take a tactical role in the Center's future. For a contribution of US$200,000 per year for three years, Associate members support research and development related to the eSCMs and its Capability Determination methods, and gain unlimited use (internal and external) of the eSCMs. For a contribution of US$100,000 per year for three years, Contributing members support research and development related to the eSCMs and its Capability Determination methods and gain unlimited use of the eSCMs for internal use.

Governmental organizations associated with quality standards and services may become Contributing Members and gain unlimited use of the eSCMs for external use.

Consortium members at the Principal, Associate, and Contributing levels receive the following direct benefits:

  • Advisory Board representation
  • Early review of ITSqc models, methods, and other related documents
  • Early notification of new developments and early access to training to maximize their opportunities for commercial advantage
  • Education and training preference and discounts
  • Opportunities to place Visiting Industrial Scholars at Carnegie Mellon University
  • Priority consideration for pilot evaluation sites
  • Preprints of research reports
  • Invitations to selected workshops on various topics
  • Direct contact with established leaders in quality modeling and process improvement, and opportunities to consult with the ITSqc research team
  • Early acquaintance with graduate students who will lead future research in the field.

ITSqc Affiliate Members
Affiliates are organizations who wish to participate in the development of a model and its associated Capability Determination methods, though they may not wish to get deeply involved in the ITSqc research program.

Affiliated members receive the following direct benefits:

  • Early review of ITSqc models, methods, and other related documents
  • Invitations to selected workshops on various topics
  • Opportunities to place Visiting Industrial Scholars at Carnegie Mellon University
  • Facilitated access to faculty experts of the Center

Each Affiliate contributes US$10,000 to US$50,000 annually to fund research in ITSqc.

Visiting Industrial Scholars
Organizations may nominate personnel to spend time in residence at the ITSqc. This benefit is included in Founding, Principal, Associate, Contributing, and Affiliate memberships. Other organizations pay an annual fee of US$65,000 per year to cover the basic research and administrative expenses of the scholar. Other costs, including travel and other living expenses, are covered by the scholar's organization. Space is limited. Nominees whose research interests coincide with those of the ITSqc are given preference.

Pilot Capability Determination Site
Organizations that do not contribute directly may apply for consideration as a pilot site. These sites make an in-kind contribution of personnel time to participate in appraisal method field testing and pay for certain costs associated with their Capability Determination and in return gain an early look at a model and its associated capabilities.

Model Reviewers
Individuals who wish to participate in public reviews of the ITSqc models may join one of our model-specific reviewer groups. Participation in a reviewer group is a good way to be kept informed about major news regarding the capability model of interest.
