Courses

The IT Services Qualification Center (ITSqc) at Carnegie Mellon University has focused its attention and effort on the IT-enabled services (ITES) segment of the global market. In addition to its Executive Education courses, ITSqc also offers academic courses within Carnegie Mellon University’s Institute for Software Research (ISR).

The Institute for Software Research (ISR) offers graduate-level courses in Service Management that were developed in conjunction with a Heinz School specialization.  Drawing on Carnegie Mellon and ITSqc’s multi-faceted strengths in information technology and management, emphasizing the integration of strong information technology skills with training in management and business strategy, faculty currently teach an undergraduate course and several graduate courses.  These courses should be of interest to full or part-time graduate students learning about service management and sourcing, information technology management, information security, software design and development, and service innovation.

The Service Management courses will help students develop a balanced portfolio of knowledge, skills, and experience. Successful completion of these courses will enable students to contribute immediately and add enduring value in organizations that provide or procure IT-enabled services.

The Service Innovation course may be of interest to students in the undergraduate minor in Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Economic Development (I Double E), Masters program in Engineering & Technology Innovation Management (E&TIM), Service Management concentration in the Heinz MISM, and MSIT students.
